How to: Submit a Bug Ticket

Hello there!


If you're reading this the chances are you've encountered a bug or need help with an issue you're suffering from in War for the Overworld. Fortunately for you we're here to help!


We have an excellent turnaround time on bugs that are well-reported to ensure your issue gets seen to and resolved as soon as possible we need as much information as possible from you.


This article will contain a list of everything you can provide us to make this process as smooth as possible.


If you use a non-debian Linux distro we will be limited in the support we can offer. We recommend Ubuntu for the optimal Linux experience.


Core Information


  • Specify your platform
    • OS (Windows, Mac, Linux)
    • Version (XP, 7, Ubuntu, Lion, etc)
    • 64/32bit
      • Ram
      • CPU
      • GPU
  • Specify the build you are using (there will be a timestamp visible on the main menu)
  • Include as much information as possible (what map you were on, screenshots, videos, etc)
  • Include an output log, crash report or launcher log as required (see below for info)
  • Only post one bug per report
  • Only post bug reports in the Bug Tracker
  • Specify any troubleshooting steps you've already undertaken
  • Search the Bug Tracker for any similar or identical open reports, if one exists comment there instead of opening a new ticket


Posting Output Logs


In addition, a log is created by the game every time you play. Posting this will help resolve some issues. Please note that this file is wiped every time the game launches, so ensure the bug you are reporting happened during your last play session. The location of the log can be found in the following location based on OS:

Posting Save Files




Many issues with level progression or intermittent errors that are occurring regularly in a particular save are difficult for us to identify without save files. Where possible please try to include a save file in which you are experiencing the issue.

Posting Crash Reports



If you are reporting a crash, please include the crash report. These are stored in time-stamped folders within the game directory. Zip the relevant folder up and attach it to your post.

Posting Launcher logs


If you are reporting an issue with multiplayer connectivity, please include your launcher log file. Launcher logs are wiped each time the game is started. You can find this file in the following location based on OS:
