Stuck on loading screen

Hello,

I tried to install and run WFTO on Steam (windows 10 64-bit), and it seems that every time I try to load any type of game it stops loading around 85%. I can hear the music change from the loading screen music into some sound effects, but it won't budge.

Game Version: v1.6.3

System Specs:

OS: Windows 10 64-bit v1703 build 15063.540

CPU: AMD FX 8350 4.00 GHz

RAM: 16.0 GB

GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB

Logs:

War for the Overworld Launcher Log.txt

output_log.zip

I'm usually able to troubleshoot the issue myself, here's what I've done so far:

- Added exceptions to the firewall both inbound and outbound for both .exe files

- Added exceptions for the port range 27015-27016 for all applications

- Added AVG exception

- Disabled antivirus

- Disabled Firewall

- Attempted to turn steam offline and run

- Disabled my internet adapter to force both the game and steam into offline modes, and re-ran

One thing that flagged a warning to me was a dll load crash that keeps repeating in the output log:

Fallback handler could not load library D:/Steam/steamapps/common/War For The Overworld/WFTOGame_Data/Mono/.\D:/Steam/steamapps/common/War For The Overworld/WFTOGame_Data/Plugins/GalaxyCSharpGlue.dll

However I'm not sure how to solve it. Another odd thing is the unusually large size of the output log (36.9 MB), which is why I had to zip it.

I hope the issue is easy to solve for you, since I'd really love to play your game,

Kind regards

Update - Attempted two more things, to no avail:

- Verified game cache

- Reinstalled the game

Please double check that you have C++ redist 2010,2012,2013,2015. 2015 is the most important one. You can see which ones are installed in Control Panel.

If you are missing any then please go to the "_CommonRedist/vcredist" folder in the game's install directory.

Hello Cian,

Works indeed, I was lacking the 2015 64 bit redist.

However I'm slightly disappointed, as I had to uninstall 2017 64 bit redist to install 2015.

It's a fix nonetheless, and thank you very much for it!

No worries! Sorry to hear that it was a bit inconvenient, but glad it's working.
